The stamps.

We have four brand new stamps today…and I’m just ever-so excited about them!

 

 

First we have the mighty sweet Savannah and Savannah XL. The are .22″ and .32″ inches tall, respectively. I can’t even tell you just how much I love these! Both upper and lower and numbers…and multiples…all on one sheet. Yes!

 

 

One thing you’ll notice with these stamps—as opposed to my alphabet stamps in general—is that the base of the letter is ‘square’ rather than going with the lines of the letter. The reason for that is due to the ‘delicacy’ or ‘fineness’ of the actual stamp (character) and its size. The square design base gives it a more stable setting and is also quite helpful in creating consistent spacing…which, helloooo…love a more open style word. However, it can add a little extra space on letters like ‘v’ or ‘w’, like you see here. Normally those letters that are next to something like the ‘a’ would have a little overlap, bringing them closer together. It’s not too noticeable in general, but I did consider adjusting these letters here closer together and stamping the ‘v’ on its own.  think in most cases your word will look amazing without adjusting it though.

Next up, Along Those Lines. This little gem came about a few months back when I went looking for ‘that one’ border stamp among all my stamps. Good grief. haha I knew I needed just a sheet of a plethora of styles to keep at the ready. Perfect for accenting your words! I’m almost equally excited about this one as I am Savannah…. Almost. ;)

 

 

Last, but not least is Playing Around. I love adding this different flavor as an accent on a page, and especially when you’re doing a montage of stamps. It’s a continuation on Year Round and Round About Christmastime. Soooo much fun!

The freebies.

A while back I asked on social media what y’all would like to see from the Summer Freebies that we do ’round these parts. A lot of you loved the themed words that we did last year (here), but a lot of you also wanted to do printables. So I’m making both happen–cuttable words that will work well with the theme of this week…or weekend and I’ll be doing printables for the Summer Freebie. It’s what you call cake and eat it too. ;)

Every day, through Friday, there will be one new freebie available to download. When the day is up, the freebie goes into a ‘holding area’ and a new freebie emerges. At the end of the week, all six designs will become one Right Now kit and available to purchase in the store.

And as part of this freebie extravaganza, the KBS team will be showing them off all week.

Today, we start with the heart of this word ensemble, Right Now, with the beautiful stylings of Miss Ashley. Isn’t this just fantastic? Love how she incorporated the little borders from Along Those Lines. And repeating the title for all three kids? brilliant.

 

 

 

 

I’m a fan of repetition on my layouts, so when I sat down to use the Right Now NSD Freebie, I thought it would be fun to cut it multiple times on my Cameo.

I chose a photo of each of the kids and decided to place a photo next to each of the cut files. Usually, I cut my designs from white card stock and back them with patterned paper. This time, I decided to cut the designs from a patterned paper and layer them over a white patterned paper background.

Once, all of that was in place, I grabbed some labels for each photo and used the new Savannah alpha stamp to stamp out each of their names. I also used the Along Those Lines stamp set to add in some embellishing around each of the photos. I finished my layout, with some stickers and enamel dots!
