Look what I just got!!! A Fuji X100V!!! Ahhhh!!!

 

When I say I’ve been thinking about getting one of these for years, I really mean it. The S (Second) version caught my eye when I initially started thinking of scaling back from my heavy Canon dSLR. Then the T (Third) was out when I finally opted in 2016 for my X-T10 instead so I could use different lenses. The X100’s have a 23mm f/2 fixed lens. Can’t take it off. 

I upgraded to an X-T3 in 2019 for some key features I wanted, but it’s also a little bigger and heavier. The X100 line was always in my mind, particularly when they came out with the V (Fifth). And the more I heard about it, the more I was being swayed to get one. 

But did I really need it? 

That was the constant debate in my head for months and months. Fuji’s color science is amazing. Put all that into this gorgeous compact camera with an amazing lens and ever so quiet shutter and the fact that you can make recipes to give your photo a ‘look’ without editing (you can do that with all Fujis) and it just kept calling me. I nearly bought it in December, but chickened out once again. 

I just wanted something more compact and better than an iPhone, particularly for traveling or just for everyday. 

In April I decided to get it, but it is sooo hard to get one! IF you can order it, you’d most likely have to wait six months due to chip shortages and exTREMEly high demand. I may have ordered three from different places. haha (No charge until you get one.) I’d read somewhere that you might could pick one up on Best Buy if you keep watching for it, so finally while we were in Hawaii last week—where I was using my X-T10 and pancake lens (more compact), I checked a few times on Best Buy one night and then again in the morning and it was IN STOCK!!!! What???? I added it to my cart so fast! And after several daily shipping delays, I finally have it in my two little pink hands! 

I am so excited! I feel like I jumped to the front of line. haha

Yes, I will be keeping all my other gear because each one works for different situations…and this girl likes her options…as you know. :)

I think it was meant to be. ;)
