I tell ya, I’ve been debating about getting a Fujifilm X100 series camera for years. The V finally swayed me…after additional months of internal mental debate, mind you. 😜

Here’s my top ten reasons why I added it to my already amazing Fujifilm camera gear. 

  1. Size and weight. It’s low profile and lighter than my X-T3.
  2. Travel + Everyday. Due to item 1, this makes it the perfect all around system to have. 
  3. Hello Gorgeous. It’s amazingly good looking. ;)
  4. Built-in ND filter. Bright sunny days? No problem. Just the flip of a switch and you’ve got an ND filter. No unnecessary additional twisting or carrying (or remembering to bring one) filters. 
  5. Results. Beautiful imagery provided by the 23mm f/2 lens. 
  6. One Lens Fits Most. With only one unchangeable lens it removes the internal debate about which lens to use. It is what it is. You can be more in the moment and get that photo. 
  7. Fuji’s Color Science. While Fuji does include additional picture taking modes in all their cameras, this one has a little more than my X-T3. With these base options, you have even more options to create Recipes to take photos in the style you want to take without editing. Check out fujixweekly.com/@fujixweekly for examples of this. *Bonus: You can shoot in both JPG and RAW to get the best of both worlds (many cameras do this). JPG uses the ‘baked in’ recipe for a glorious straight out of camera shot, but if you want the actual image ‘as seen’, the RAW can be an alternate choice. 
  8. Weather Sealed…as long as you have a UV filter—and filter adapter—on the camera. This is also a pet peeve to many. Why should you have to buy an adapter and filter to make it weather sealed when it’s marketed as weather sealed. 🤷🏻 The adapter should be included with the camera at least.
  9. Minimum Focal Distance. It’s 4” for some great ‘macro style’ photography.
  10. Leaf shutter. Is it an oxymoron to say ‘I’ve never heard anything so quiet’? I keep thinking I have it on the electrical shutter and not mechanical shutter. Wow! There is the usual noise from the lens as it focuses, but when you press the shutter button? Ohhhh my gosh! Stealthy.
