While there is sooo much to love about this Fujifilm X100V, no camera is perfect. So I thought I’d share a few things I wish it had:

  1. Vertical tilt screen. Ugh. It’s one reason why I bought my X-T3…to get lower vertical shots without crouching. At least it does have a horizontal tilt screen. Older versions didn’t have it.
  2. Hand Grip. It would be nice if there was a little bigger hand grip on front. I have small hands and so it’s not quite as big of a deal (poor men!), but still…just a little more grip and it would be nice. Some buy a thumb grip to put in the hot shoe or even an additional grip, but that increases the size of the camera because it attaches at the bottom as well, so that one is not for me. The thumb grip might be something I’ll consider as I use the camera more, but it can be a bother with the dials on the top right too. There are different styles of thumb grips that can work with this.
  3. Missing D-pad. So many people, including me, use this to assign shortcuts to frequently used features. That being said, I was always touching my D-pad on my smaller X-T10 in Hawaii and knocking settings. I never do that on my larger X-T3 since there’s more space for my thumb to rest. So this missing D-pad is undecided. Besides being able to configure other buttons and dials to your liking, you can also use the Q/Quick Menu to access your own personal My Menu to quickly get to features you need.
  4. The Joystick. This is just a little imperfection, but man, if you use it enough it starts wearing on your thumb. I’ve been using it a lot as I’ve been setting up my camera and it actually was making my thumb sore. 😆 Started using my forefinger and thumb to switch it up. Would be nice if it were softer.
  5. Separate Ring Adapter. As I mentioned in my last post, I hate that you have to buy a separate ring adapter to put on a filter to weather seal it. This makes absolutely no sense to me. If it has to be that way, put the adapter in with the camera. It’s not right to make it a separate—not cheap—purchase. 😑

These are a few things I’ve noticed so far. If they would factor into your decision on purchasing the camera, then now you know. 😁
