Sheree is rocking this month’s stamps with a little feast for the eyes! I don’t even know where to start! The Skinny Plaid Background? Or that giant and glorious date using the District Numbers XXL? All the layers with the Open This helpful hints? Gosh. It’s all just fabulous!

 

 

 

 

 

For my TN spread today I knew that I wanted to play with the awesome new District Numbers XXL for my title and also wanted to use the fun Open This stamp set too so decided to create some pockets to hold my journaling and extra photos.  Once I had this plan in mind, I printed my full page photo and got started.

To create the pockets on my first page I stamped one of my favourite KBS background stamps called Skinny Plaid four times onto white cardstock, then trimmed and layered them at different heights.  I punched a half circle at the top of each pocket.  Before adhering them all together, I wanted to add some stamped pieces to the front of the bottom pocket so that I could add some stitching there too.

I stamped the number “18” with the District Numbers XXL, the month with District Upper and the fun little “Vibes” stamp from the new Weekend stamp set onto white cardstock then cut them all out before adhering them onto the pocket front.  I added some stitching across each piece to add some texture.  I then went ahead and adhered all my pockets together and stitched around the edge of the entire piece before positioning it onto my white cardstock page.

I used stamps from the Open This stamp set to add the words “pull” and “more” to the top of my two smaller photos and printed journaling to indicate to the reader that you can remove each item from the pockets.  I love how it looks!

To finish, I used an off-cut from a stamped Skinny Plaid piece to back the phrase stamp from the Weekend stamp set, stitched across it and adhered it to the top of my full page photo.
