I love being able to mix words and numbers to make amazing graphics on a page. It’s just my favorite. And seeing these calendars that Nancy has prepped just makes me all sorts of giddy! Like…truly.

 

 

I love the idea of keeping a traveler’s notebook in my purse to jot down notes from the day. I have a weekly journal that I embellish and this is the perfect place to write about my day. I’m also planning on using it as my creative calendar so I can keep up with projects.

 

 

I printed out the 31 day, left block monthly calendar as the base. I kept it super simple with the days of the week up at the top using the new By The Day stamp set. I love how the days of the week are a perfect fit for these spaces. At the lower left corner, I created a layered stamp cluster. I started with a large letter “M” from the District Upper set in gray, then the green leaf from the Grateful stamp set in green. Next I stamped “May” from the new By The Month set in black and a small sentiment “the day to day of us” from the Daily stamp set in coral. Simple but interesting is always the goal.

 

 

To create the daily pages where I’ll jot down notes, I used the stencils to create all of the black lines and bullet points. Then, I added the daily number with the District Upper stamp set. On top of the numbers, I layered the month of “May” with the By The Month set and the day of the week is from the A Little Time stamp set. I used a few words from the Life-ing set as a short but sweet journaling prompt on each day. At the very bottom of the day, I used the weather checkboxes from the new Daily stamp set in coordinating inks so that I can quickly mark off what type of day it was.
These new daily calendars and life-ing sets perfectly complement the stencil and everything (including the tiny numbers) line up. The entire system is a no brainer way of jotting down notes quickly with the ability to still make it pretty! That’s my kind of project.
