I wondered what I would want to do when it came to documenting a trip in my new A6 life.

Would I want to include every detail?

Would I want to make a separate album?

Would I want to touch on just some highlights with a photo or two?

It was perplexing, to say the least. ;)

I took a bazillion photos on this trip in May (okay, that may be an exaggeration) and as I perused what I had, it became clear that I wanted to include more photos, but also have it be a part of documenting daily. There were just some that I loved–the memories–and wanted them to be immediately ‘visible’. But I wanted to keep to a page a day.

My solution?

Make some flippy photo pages and type on the Daily Log journaling sheet to get it all in.

For the flip-up on the left, I used a heavier weight paper rather than cardstock. It may be a bad decision over time…could wear out, but because I had so many photos in this spread, I wanted to keep it light. I used Photoshop to size photos, 2 by 2, adhered them to a folded piece of paper, trimmed it and added it to the page. I also added a ‘Lift This’ from the Open This stamp set.

And before you ask, the Washington-related stamps are a sneak peek for July (insert Snoopy dance here).

You can take the Daily Log (blank version for me) into Photoshop/Elements and type over it if you have a lot of journaling, like I did here. Use Line Height to get it to fit.

I added some titles from the Wander stamp set to the log sheet as well as used a grey highlighter to ‘color’ in the day of the week.

I actually printed two days of log sheets and adhered them together. I added it to the spread with washi tape on the right page. You can’t really see it because it got covered up when I added the full-height photo flip. I had also trimmed it to leave some white space on that inside edge to make sure the washi didn’t cover up my journaling.

Next I added my title on the right page using the Boardwalk alphabet stamps. And you know what…I could spell out the entire thing and lay down all the letters at once. Yay for multiple letters in a set! :)

I have to say, that’s one question I get a lot: how do you get your letters so straight? I rarely stamp my letters one at a time. And since some of my stamp sets have multiple letters…this helps with being able to get most, if not all, of your word.

I had already saved many of my photos in a 9×16 format to share them in my Instagram Stories, so I created a photo size of the same ratio in Photoshop and brought in four photos to create the two inside photo collages. Since I loooove bridges, I wanted that photo to be featured on that right page. I adhered two photos back to back, adhered the other 4-photo page to the center of the page, and created my flip with washi tape.

Now I just need to do three more days. :)
