The new Stanley alphabet sold out in 90 minutes yesterday. What??? It’s interesting, when I saw the alphabet, it was like a whole boom feeling. I knew I needed it in my KBS stamp arsenal. I just didn’t realize how much you all needed it in your lives too. Wow!

Since it sold out, it went to Preorder–along with Wicked–and you can order them until Thursday Sept. 7. That will be the final order date for Stanley and it will not be available any longer. A little reminder that this was a unique alphabet designed for this Halloween release. If you want it, make sure you get it preordered by September 7. Wicked will remain in the lineup for a while, but if you want secure one for yourself, be sure to get it ordered too.

The other two stamp sets will most likely sell out as well (if they haven’t already), but will just restocked like normal.

Now, before we get into the awesomeness of Nancy’s project, since some have asked where the name ‘Stanley’ came from, I thought I’d tell ya. As a general rule, I like naming the alphabets that have some kind of meaning or history for me. Family members or places I’ve been are my standard go-to’s.

Therefore, the Stanley name comes from one of our favorite places, Stanley Idaho, as well as what many of you guessed on Instagram, the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park–the inspiration for The Shining. I’m personally not a Stephen King fan (my BFF loves his writing!) and I’ve only see tiny clips here and there of the movie, but we did see the hotel when we were in Estes Park, so I thought it was a good fit for Halloween and all.

I can’t believe that it’s already Happy October Daily season! This is one of my favorite yearly projects. I’m easing into the season with the opening page of my OD album for 2023. The minute I saw the new Stanley alpha, I knew I wanted to use every single delicious letter. What better way than to open with a spooky Halloween alpha page. 

My favorite thing about this alpha are all the conjoined letters – especially that double “O”. I stamped the “B” and double “O” in orange to spell out BOO and add some interesting color to the design. I sprinkled in a few puffy stickers and googly eyes to represent some of the letters. Just under the googly eyes I added small line of text – “Goblins Ghouls Galore”. At the end of the alpha diagram I was left with a small space and used the Through the Years stamp set to add “2023”. At the very bottom, I used the new Wicked stamp set to add “Happy Halloween” in a nice punch of orange ink. I love the new tiny handwriting font used in this stamp.

I added a strip of black and text patterned paper to the right side of the page to add contrast and highlight the alpha center. I think this is such a fun way to start an October Daily (or October Occasionally) album. The new Stanley alpha and Wicked stamp sets are must have for this spooky season
