Don’t think I haven’t thought how amazing it would be to put a pool in our backyard. I would love to spend my summer days laying in a pool. Sadly, it’s not a practical option for us. ;)

I guess when one doesn’t have a pool you go in search of one, like Nancy has done. What a beautiful spot and a beautiful spread! And ‘poolside’ in Cherry Limeade with those  double o’s? Oh my! Looks like two pool floaties. How perfect is that? Diggin’ that word border too. brilliant.

 

 

I love a good list of words and the new Word Summery stamp set is just what I needed! I naturally gravitate towards clean designs that focus on words and color. This new stamp set is perfect for adding text and neat little boxes. Add a beautiful color palette and you have a simple layout that is fun and easy to create.

 

 

On the right side, I started by stamping text from Word Summery on scraps of pale blue, teal and lime cardstock. I added a strip of palm leaves patterned paper to the left margin of the page and stacked the stamped words along the side. At the very bottom of the page, I layered a white netting die cut, sun umbrella die cut, leaf die cut and dimensional flower to finish off the layout.

On the left, I kept it very simple. The Cherry Limeade alpha is a star all on its own. I stamped it directly on the photo with Staz-On ink. It adds a really, bold contrasting element to the more delicate boxes of stamped text on the right. Sometimes keeping things simple and focusing on the words is the best way to tell a story!
