I don’t know about you, but I struggle ‘scrapbooking’ while on a trip. Let’s face it, you want to spend your precious time creating memories rather than documenting…buuuut…you need to keep notes of those memories too.

When I take things with me to ‘scrapbook’, 98% I end up not doing anything but maybe the first page. In other words, I haul a whole bunch of stuff around for nothing.

whyyyyyy-eeee….

I think what holds me up is the ‘scrapbooking’ part. You know, trying to make things cool and then I kind of give up on doing it because I don’t want to take the time.

So what I’ve come to realize, what it all comes down to is, I don’t want to have to think about it.  I just want to journal. But using an actual predefined travel journal doesn’t work for me either because not every day is the same for me. I want some options.

Okay, I always want options. ;)

So last summer when I made the Everyday Caption printable and the Simple Setups, it got my brain all a-twirlin’ on making some printables like that for travel to work in the Plain Notebooks: A6 size journals.

And that’s how Simple Setups: Go was born.

There are four printable configurations to give you some simple options, plus two journaling pages. You can also make your own journaling lines using the Journaling Stencil: A6. That’s what I used when I first tried this out…before I’d added the two journal page options. In the spirit of keeping things quick, I thought it would be nice to have these as options to put into your album as well.

Each configuration comes three to a sheet so all you need to do is print one or two of each, trim them and take them along.

I used this very simple setup on our trip to Charelston last November and I can’t tell you just how excited I was that it worked! I did it! I kept up in the most simple of forms, had the most basic supplies and I love how it came together…and taking up so little space…and weight. haha

( this is a ‘preproduction’ playing-around example )

This is what I took: One location-themed stamp set, one black ink, one flat stamping block, one adhesive, one scissors, one pencil (I like using pencils), one blank KBS A6 journaling notebook, one journaling stencil and a couple accessories, like washi and some labels that I already had printed. I also trimmed some kraft paper to size just to add al little ‘extra’ if I wanted.

Much of this is all contained in one A6 Moterm planner, including the stamps and journaling template that go in the back pocket—which is where they are peeking out from here in this photo. I also used the Canon Selphy Qx10, which does a pretty darn good job. It prints a maximum of 2.7″ square.

And it all wraps up to this here.  I will share more of my Charleston album soon, so keep an eye out for that.
