So back to taking stock.

This is a multi-meaning phrase, I tell ya. It means I’m not only checking my inventory, but I’m also assessing what stamps we will be saying goodbye to as well as how I will be moving forward after a surprise change in stamp manufacturer last month (still US made). Their procedures are a little different than what I’ve been accustomed to for the past ten years and so it just alters my decisions on my stamp production and inventory.

As a result, in the very near future there will probably be several stamp sets that once they are sold out, that will be it. Especially ones that have more than one stamp sheet size in a set…something like Cherry Limeade and 32oz Cherry Limeade This incredibly popular alphabet is getting one last run via a preorder which ends Sunday, December 21 at 8pm MT. And due to everything going on, it will not be included in the December sale.

So what does all this mean?

Well, I know this new manufacturer is used by a few companies in this industry, so I have faith that all will be well with the end result…that’s the part you’re probably most concerned about. ;) For me though, I just have to be more selective or weigh my options in how I design a stamp set and determine how long it will be available.

It also means, that if there has been any stamp set you’ve had your eye on—particularly those that are at least six months old or have multi stamp sheets—now is the time to get them because there are no guarantees they will be around. This is something I will be working through before the end of the year. Stamps that are going to be discontinued can be found in the Last Call section.

When all is said and done though, not much is really changing…still designing, still manufacturing, still selling. :)
